Sonato Prints from Elann.com. I worked this on size 6 needles over 28 stitches. I wanted to see how the colors worked out. The yarn is crisp and the colors luminous, especially the greens and blues. From top to bottom

I haven't managed to get gauge yet, might need to go down to a size 5 needle. But I did get gauge doing the mitered squared pattern

I didn't buy any sonata patterns, which I may regret having seen your interesting swatch...

Hi, just wondering, do you think the Sonata is a good substitute for the Tahki Cotton Classic? The colors look great on screen......xox Kay PS LOVE the sleeveless Kimono.

Hi Kay

I think Sonata would be a great substitute for Cotton Classic. The gauge is the same and they both have that shiny finish.
I have had real problems getting gauge with size 6 needles. In fact I have only gotten gauge with size 3 needles. Which is a bit of a bummer. I dare say it is me, because the ladies at the Elann Chat site are spot on. I think it has to do with my being unused to knitting with cotton.
My original idea was to create a summer lacy top with Sonata. But the pretty prints hide the lace and without some sort of pattern you end up with stripes. One of the gals at Elann is doing a vertical mitered top in Sonata prints. It looks smashing. She is using the dark Mayan Treasure. aka Tigress
